My Creative Journey | Director of Photography | Photographer | Visual Artist
My creative journey really began when I was about five. I was sitting cross-legged on the wooden floor during a school assembly, half listening like most kids do, when a piece of classical music started to play. Out of nowhere, I felt my eyes fill with tears. I didn’t understand what was happening or why it affected me so deeply. All I knew was that something about that sound stirred something inside me. It was the first time I realized that music and art could move me in ways I didn’t yet have words for. From that moment on, I realized creativity wasn’t just something I enjoyed, it was part of who I am. Since then, I’ve felt a constant pull to create work that captures real emotions, explores ambiguity, mystery and the messy, beautiful reality of being human.
From Music & Sound Design to Visual Storytelling
After leaving school, I immersed myself in the electronic music scene, inspired by artists like Aphex Twin. I built my own studio, producing and releasing music on respected labels such as Renegade Recordings, Underfire, and Audio Blueprint. Working in the music industry shaped so much of how I see and feel creatively, but after a while I started to sense there was more out there for me to explore. That curiosity led me to study Fine Art at Central Saint Martins (London), where I focused on Moving Image.
I still remember sitting in a lecture about David Lynch and feeling something click. The way he used cinematography and camera movement to create emotion felt so familiar to me, it was the same feeling I’d had as a child, sitting on that school hall floor, overwhelmed by music. In that moment, I realised that images could move me the way sound once had. From then on, I chose to pursue film and cinematography.
Cinematography & Fine Art Training
Graduating from Central Saint Martins, I began working in production, developing my craft as a Director of Photography (DOP). Each project became an opportunity to experiment with light, movement, and story, building a strong technical and creative foundation.
To push myself further, I undertook an MFA in Fine Art at Goldsmiths University London, again focusing on Moving Image. This period sharpened my conceptual thinking, allowing me to merge artistic exploration with commercial cinematography. Since then, I’ve built an extensive career as a DOP, Lighting Camera Operator, and Video Editor, collaborating with leading global brands, agencies, and production companies.
Expanding into Music, Sound & Visual Art
In 2015, experiencing Jon Hopkins (Electronic Musician), live reignited my love for sound. Alongside my cinematography career, I compose cinematic soundscapes designed to transport listeners into immersive worlds, fusing sound and image into multi-sensory storytelling. Like David Lynch, I believe in working across mediums, whether film, music, photography, or visual design, to let the idea dictate the form. This freedom allows me to bring a fresh, multidimensional approach to every project, whether it’s a commercial campaign, branded content, documentary, or artistic collaboration.
Photography & Visual Practice
Alongside film and music, I maintain an ongoing photographic practice, exploring abstraction, light, and form. My images are often minimal, mysterious, and atmospheric, compositions that resist linear interpretation, instead inviting viewers into unresolved stories and internal landscapes.
